Illegal logging in the Russian Far East is of particular concern because the forests are home to the last 450 wild Siberian tigers. The Lumber Liquidators case was investigated jointly by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by the Department of Justice under the name “Operation Oakenshield.”

Global Climate and Ozone

We engage in advocacy to maximize climate action on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and other super pollutants under the Montreal Protocol and UNFCCC Paris Agreement.

Our global policy work focuses on climate action to eliminate HFCs and other fluorinated super pollutants under the Montreal Protocol and UNFCCC Paris Agreement to prevent global warming of more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Robust implementation, enforcement, and accelerated action are needed to ensure a full recovery of the ozone layer and maximize climate benefits.
