Letter: U.S. Congressional Appeal to Japanese Diet Members to Close Ivory Market
On June 9, 2025, a bipartisan letter signed by 22 members of the U.S. House of Representatives was sent to the Chairmen of the Environment Committee of the National Diet of Japan. The letter urges Japan to take steps to close its market during the ongoing review of its law that governs the trade in ivory, the Act on Conservation of Endangered Species.
